Its name derives from the fact that its dark green leaves are so thickly curled that the plant resembles moss. It is high-yielding and can grow through fall and into winter because of its high tolerance to cold. Its leaves are aromatic and have a milder flavor than the flat leaf type.
When and Where to Plant: Soak seeds for 24 hours then plant in sunny location as soon as soil can be worked. Cultivate soil and enrich with vegetable food. Firm soil over seed. In the fall set young plants in pots and grow on windowsill indoors.
Care: Keep soil moist, clean, and feed every 6 weeks.
Harvesting: For best flavor, pick early in the morning. Flavoring improves with successive cuttings.
